John Nobile

Hi, this is John Nobile calling from Jackson Airport on Monday night. Just to make it official, I pulled out as I had planned to a few days ago, so I could save my vacation time for another race. I went as far as Turpin Meadows [Turpin Meadow Ranch] last night; we stayed there. This morning Jill headed up the pass- Togwotee Pass- and hopefully she's gonna make Pinedale tonight, but I guess we'll find out. There were some actually pretty bad headwinds, coming back into Jackson- hopefully the riders aren't dealing with that.

I think, also, I think I spotted Jeremy at the airport here, maybe, lying down, looking pretty beat- I don't want to start any rumors, but I'm pretty sure it was him. I didn't bother him- he looked like he was sleeping...

So, anyway, I hope everyone has a good race, and I'll maybe fill in some more details later about what happened on the second day that caused me to slow down.

Hi, this is John Nobile, I'm at Flag Ranch, I guess it's around 4 o' clock on Sunday. I think Jill's probably about a half hour behind me. Probably gonna go another forty today, but Jill's gonna go on, and I'm probably gonna pull the plug tomorrow morning and ride down to Jackson and get a flight out of here and save my vacation time, since I'm certainly not going to set any records this year.

So, anyway, we're having a good ride. Flag Ranch Road was fine- there was nothing too hard about any of the trails today, and I guess Jill will update you later.

Hi, this is John Nobile checking in from Eureka.  First day went well, I got to Sparwood at about 10 and then I got a super early start this morning.  But it was cold and there was a lot of water on the trial on fording road - I had to walk through a couple of feet of water (I'm sure everyone reported that).  A lot of rain on and off, thunderstorms - got super super wet. My bike comp acturally stopped working (it got too wet I guess). Anyways, that was a brutal brutal day. I crossed the border at about 5 and I am just gonna take it easy tonight. I'm actually gonna ride up to the border tomorrow morning to corss agan to sort of start my border to border race from there (guess that's sort of a searate categeory. Anyway, I'll be checking in, hopefully, in the enxt day or two...
